CT Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A Connecticut man was killed after his vehicle traveled off the roadway hitting a utility pole and a mailbox. Windham County resident Michael Steele, age 40, of the Town of Brooklyn, was killed around 7 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26 on Wauregan Road in Brooklyn, said the Connecticut State Police. An investigation revealed that Steele, who was traveling southbound on Wauregan Road, traveled off the roadway at which time he struck a tree and telephone pole causing the vehicle to roll over, state police said. Steele was pronounced dead at the scene.

Person Of Interest Identified In Fatal Overdose Of CT Seventh-Grader Police in Connecticut said that a person of interest has been identified in the case involving the death of a seventh-grade student from a fentanyl overdose. The Hartford Police Department also announced late Tuesday, Jan. 25, that about 100 bags of fentanyl were found in the bedroom of the student who died two days after overdosing on the drug on Thursday, Jan, 13 while at school.  Two other students were also hospitalized but later released.  According to Lt. Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Stretch Of Busy Roadway In Area A busy roadway in the area is shut down to one lane following a seven-vehicle crash including a school bus with eight students aboard. The crash took place early Wednesday, Jan. 26, on Route 17 in the Orange County town of Wallkill, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Although one lane of traffic has opened, traffic is being diverted at Crystal Run Road, Nevel said. No information regarding injuries was available at this time. New Update: 18 Students Hospitalized After School Bus Crash In Area Eighteen high school students were transported to an area hospital for evaluation following a crash with a car. The head-on crash took place in Sullivan County around 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25 on Route 55 in the town of Neversink. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, an initial investigation revealed that the driver of a 2021 Jeep Cherokee was traveling east on Route 55 when the vehicle struck a guide rail causing it to veer into the opposite lane and strike a school bus traveling west.  The school bus was carrying 18 high school-age students and was en route to Boces Sullivan. …
