LI Man Attacked, Robbed During Home Burglary, Police Say
Police on Long Island are investigating a burglary in which the homeowner was assaulted and money was stolen.
The crime took place around 7:40 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4, on Hobson Drive in Aquebogue, police said.
According to Det. Mark Stromski, of the Riverhead Police, when officers arrived at the home they found the resident, who told officers his home was just burglarized by an unknown person who physically assaulted him, then removed money from his bedroom.

Resort Worker Killed By Snowmobile In Berkshires, Officials Say
The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit is investigating an apparent accidental death at a Western Massachusetts resort.
According to Andrew McKeever, of the Berkshires District Attorney's Office, detectives responded to the Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock on Tuesday, Jan. 4, following a snow groomer and a snowmobile collision.
Kimberlee Francoeur, 30, of Lanesborough, died after the snow groomer operator backed into the snowmobile she was operating, McKeever said.

Stratford Man Involved In Car Theft Ring Sentenced
A Fairfield County man has been sentenced to four years in prison for his role in an auto theft ring that included using the vehicles in violent crimes.
Christopher "Chucky" Mulkern, age 22, of Stratford, was sentenced on Monday, Jan. 3, to prison time, followed by three years of supervised release, said Leonard C Boyle, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Trio Nabbed For Nassau County Gas Station Robbery
Three Long Island men have been charged with the armed robbery of a BP gas station where they allegedly made off with cash and lottery tickets.
The incident took place on Friday, Dec. 31 around 11 p.m. at the gas station in East Meadow, said Nassau County Police.
