She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Singer From Westchester To Appear On Season Premiere Of NBC's 'The Voice' A new contestant appearing on the season premiere of the super popular "The Voice," is from the area. Westchester resident David Vogel, of Valhalla, will have his chance to impress the judges on Monday, Sept. 20 when he hits the stage. The show airs on NBC at 8 p.m. According to Vogel's Instagram page, he started writing songs when he was age 13 or 14 and loves to play his acoustic guitar. He describes himself as "a starry-eyed lover.” He said songwriting and performing was something he always wanted to do, but it didn't come easy for him, and still doesn't. Man Dies After Being Hit By Car In Region, Police Say A Western Massachusetts man that was hit by a vehicle over the weekend has died. The crash took place in Hampden County around 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, in Springfield on the 1300 block of Main Street. According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, the man who was hit was alive when transported to the hospital but later died from his injuries. The driver of the vehicle left the scene of the crash before police arrived but police have since located the car, Walsh said. The Springfield Police Traffic Unit is investigating the accident.

Man Nabbed Firing Shots In Wooded Area In Hudson Valley, Police Say A man was arrested after police responded to a report of shots fired in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County around 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18 in the area of 135 Covent Road in Nanuet. According to Clarkstown Police Detective Norm Peters, when officers arrived on the scene, witnesses were able to give officers both a description of the man who had fired the handgun and the vehicle he was driving. Officer Pinned Between Stolen Car, Police Cruiser During CT Pursuit A Connecticut police officer suffered serious injuries after being pinned between a stolen car and a police cruiser during a pursuit. The incident took place around 12:50 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, in Hartford County when a Farmington Police officer was responding to a report of a theft of a vehicle on Notch Road. Bicyclist Struck, Killed By Tractor-Trailer Near Intersection In Area An investigation is taking place after a bicyclist was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Ulster County around 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, in the area of Broadway and East St. James Street in Kingston, police said. More Than A Dozen Hospitalized After Chemical Spill In Westchester At least 13 people were transported to area hospitals after a chemical spill at a YMCA in Westchester County The spill took place around 7:14 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20 at the New Rochelle YMCA located at 50 Weyman Ave., police said. 16-Year-Old Killed After HS Football Game In Area Was Stabbed In Torso, Authorities Say Officials in the Hudson Valley have revealed that a 16-year-old who was stabbed to death after a high school football game died from a wound to the torso. Quraan Smith, a junior at Arlington High School, died around 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 immediately after the game in Dutchess County between Scarsdale High School and host Arlington High School in LaGrange. Man Critically Injured After House Fire Breaks Out On Long Island A Long Island man is in critical condition after being rescued from a house fire. The blaze broke out in Suffolk County at 2:50 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, on the 300 block of Deauville Boulevard, in Copiague. According to police, officials were notified of the fire by a 911 caller. Fairfield County Woman Drove Drunk At Three Times Legal Limit, Police Say A Fairfield County woman was nabbed allegedly driving drunk at three times the legal limit following a crash between a car and a pickup truck. Damarys F. Correa, age 37, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 10 on Route I-90 in Schenectady County by New York State Police, after she struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
