'She Touched The World': Family In Mourning After Body Believed To Be Gabby Petito Found After the FBI announced that a body found in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming was most likely that of missing 22-year-old New York resident Gabby Petito, her father paid tribute to his daughter. Petito's father, Joseph, took to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter with a photo of Gabby adorned with a pair of angel wings, and the caption: "She touched the world." The FBI asks all to honor the parent's privacy as they grieve for their daughter. 25-Year-Old Fairfield County Man Known As 'Spooda' Admits To Gang-Related Shootings A Fairfield County man has admitted to his role in multiple gang-related shootings. Undrea Kirkland, also known as “Spooda,” age 25, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering on Friday, Sept. 17, in New Haven. Kirkland has been a member of the “Greene Homes Boyz," a gang based in the Charles F. Greene Homes Housing Complex in Bridgeport’s North End, the US Attorney's Office said. CT Teen Drowns At State Park A Connecticut teen drowned at a state park over the weekend while swimming with friends. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 in New London County at the Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme, said Will Healey, of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. According to Healey, a 19-year-old male was swimming at the beach park when he went underwater and did not resurface. Duo Nabbed Siphon Used Cooking Oil From Deli In Fairfield County, Police Say Two men have been arrested in Fairfield County for allegedly stealing cooking oil after their van was spotted backed into a driveway of a restaurant. Man Seriously Injured, Woman Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Long Island Crash A man was seriously injured and a woman hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on Long Island. It happened around 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, in North Merrick, the Nassau County Police said. Fairfield County Man Sentenced For Selling Ghost Guns To Undercover Police Officer A Connecticut man was sentenced in federal court in Boston in connection with selling two “ghost guns.” Fairfield County resident, Brian McCarthy, age 33, of Bridgeport, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and two years of supervised release, according to the US Attorney's Office. McCarthy pleaded guilty to one count of dealing firearms without a federal license in May, officials said. CT Man Sets Record For Catching Largest Catfish On Record A whopping 21.3-pound white catfish caught in Connecticut last month is a state record and could also be a world record for the species. The whopper of a fish was snagged by Tolland County resident Ben Tomkunas who shattered the former record of 12.75 pounds, said the Connecticut Fish and Wildlife Department.
