She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Officer-Involved Shooting Leaves Hudson Valley Man Injured, State Police Say A Hudson Valley man who fired at police was shot in the neck by officers after being located in a wooded area, according to authorities. The shooting took place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, when New York State Police responded to a domestic incident in Orange County in the town of Deerpark. Erica Mazzo, age 34, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 30, after Darien Police responded to Birch Road for a report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Suspect At Large After Person Stabbed Inside Area Deli In 'Unprovoked' Attack, Police Say A person "viciously" stabbed inside a deli in the area has police searching for the suspect.  The attack took place in Orange County around 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9 at the Happy Deli at 321 Liberty St., in the City of Newburgh. According to Newburgh Police, officers arriving on the scene found a 42-year-old City of Newburgh resident had been stabbed multiple times in a vicious, unprovoked attack.  The victim required surgery and is expected to survive.
