ID Released For Long Island Man Killed In Crash Involving Drunk Driver, Police Say
Police have identified a man who was killed during a two-vehicle crash in which a Long Island man was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Miguel Berdecia, age 46, of Central Islip, was killed around 12:25 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8, on Sunrise Highway in Sayville, said the Suffolk County Police.
According to police, Berdecia was driving a 2011 Toyota Yaris eastbound on the Sunrise Highway, near Exit 50, when the vehicle struck the center median, followed by the guardrail of the right lane, before becoming disabled sideways in the center lane, Suffolk County Police said.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade To Return 'Live' This Year
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade is returning to the streets of New York City for its 95th celebration after being curtailed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Macy's made the announcement on Wednesday, Sept. 8, saying the parade will be delight crowds once again on Thursday, Nov. 25 beginning at 9 a.m.
This year's parade will feature the signature mix of giant character helium balloons, fantastic floats, marching bands, performance groups, celebrities, clowns, and the one-and-only Santa Claus, Macy's said.

State Police Identify Man Killed In Taconic Parkway Crash
New York State Police have identified a man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the area.
It happened around 9:35 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, on a busy stretch of the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam County.
According to Trooper AJ Hicks, officers were dispatched to the area of mile marker 30.7 southbound on the parkway in Putnam Valley just south of Exit 31A for a report of a car off the roadway.
