Byron Menendez, age 19, of Bethel, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 1, in Wilton after officers were called to the TJ Maxx parking at 14 Danbury Road (Route 7). Franciso Hernandez, age 22, was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 4, after police received a complaint call in Southampton. Long Island Man Nabbed For Rape, Endangering Welfare Of Child, Police Say A man was charged for an alleged rape on Long Island after the assault was reported to the police. The incident took place around 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, inside a residence in the hamlet of Speonk, said Sgt. Steven Miller of the Southampton Police. Following an investigation, Southampton Police arrested Gabriel Guat-Pirir, age 44, of Speonk. for rape and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.  Guat-Pirir was held at Southampton Town Police for arraignment.

Man Found Dead On Bleachers Behind Playing Field In Fairfield County A man was found dead sitting on a set of bleachers behind a playing field in Fairfield County. The man was found around 12:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, when Bridgeport Police received a call from a resident reporting a man on the bleachers behind a field on Boston Avenue. Scott Appleby, the director of emergency communications for Bridgeport, said when police and fire arrived, the man was dead, and the incident may be drug-related. Azra Zejnilovic, age 22, of the Bronx, turned herself in to the New Canaan Police on Wednesday, Sept. 1, for the incident which took place in February at the Athletic Shoe Factory.
