Police Searching For Brazen Fairfield County Home Invasion Suspect Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked a woman and forced her into her home at gunpoint during broad daylight in Fairfield County. The brazen attack took place around 11 a.m., Thursday, July 8, on Jewett Avenue in Bridgeport. A man who had been seen in the area forced the woman into her home at gunpoint and demanded she lie down on the floor, said Scott Appleby, the City of Bridgeport's director of Emergency Management. Health Inspector Accused Of Groping Waitress At Fairfield County Restaurant A health inspector in Connecticut has been arrested after he allegedly groped a server during a restaurant inspection in Fairfield County. Shelton Police arrested 61-year-old New Haven County resident Pran Gjeloshi of Hamden, on Thursday, July 8, after police took a complaint from a 19-year-old server that works at the Shelton restaurant, said Detective Richard Bango. Two-Vehicle Crash Kills 21-Year-Old Long Island Man Police on Long Island are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed one and injured another person. The crash took place at 2:50 p.m., Thursday, July 8, in North Patchogue, said the Suffolk County Police. Demetrius Hall, age 21, of Bellport, was traveling southbound on North Ocean Avenue in a 2003 Honda Accord when it veered into the northbound lane and collided with a 1995 Peterbilt truck, according to police. Some Long Island Beaches To Close As Tropical Storm Elsa Approaches As Tropical Storm Elsa continues its churn up the East Coast, officials on Long Island are battening down the hatches, as well as closing beaches. Riverhead officials said that as of Friday, July 9, all town beaches will be closed as the storm approaches the area. The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Suffolk County and southern Nassau County. Man With Several 'Ghost Guns' Arrested In Area Road-Rage Incident, Police Say An area man who was arrested for allegedly pointing a "ghost gun" and screaming racist comments at another driver during a road-rage incident was released on his own recognizance. Western Mass Man Found Shot On City Street In Broad Daylight, Police Say A Western Massachusetts man was found shot by police called to the area just minutes earlier. The unidentified man was found around 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, on Murray Hill Avenue in Springfield with non-life-threatening injuries, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police. Police Asking Public For Help IDing Hit-Run Driver In Fairfield County Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that injured a juvenile bike rider.
