Western Massachusetts Man Killed After Losing Control Of Vehicle, Police Say A 59-year-old man was killed after he lost control of his car negotiating a curve and collided head-on with another vehicle in the opposite lane, according to police. The crash took place shortly before 8:30 p.m., Monday, July 5, in Worcester County, near 49 South Main St., in Athol, said the Northwestern District Attorney's Office. Missing Long Island 12-Year-Old Found Safe After Search Using Drones, K-9s, Police Say A missing 12-year-old Long Island boy who had been the subject of a large search that included drones and K-9 searches has been found safe. Aiden Mariana went missing around 6:53 p.m., Monday, July 5, in Suffolk County from the Little Flowers Children Services in Wading River, said the Riverhead Police Department After his disappearance, there was a massive search using drones and ground support.  The child, who left on his own accord, was found safely on Tuesday, July 6.  Riverhead police said Aiden was in good health when found.

'Crackling Sound' Alerts Long Island Family To House Fire A Long Island family just sitting down to eat dinner heard a "crackling sound," and soon discovered the outside of their home was on fire. The fire started around 10:50 p.m., Monday, July 5 when the family was having dinner at their Cove Street home in Massapequa when they heard the noise. The family followed the "crackling sound" and found that the exterior side of the house was on fire and called 911, said the Nassau County Police. The Massapequa Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Two Arrested After Two-Year-Old Points Gun At Detectives In Connecticut, Police Say A Connecticut man and woman were arrested after a two-year-old child allegedly pointed a semi-automatic handgun with a red laser attachment at detectives during an investigation. The incident took place on Friday, June 25, when members of the New Haven Police along with members from various federal task forces, conducted an investigation at a Dayton street home.
