She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Weidel, who retired on Friday, June 11, began his career in December of 1980 with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office.  He was hired by the Town of Ramapo Police Department in September 1981. Police ID Rockland Man Who Died After His Vehicle Fell From Route 304 Overpass Police have released the name of a man who died in a single-vehicle Hudson Valley crash when his vehicle fell from Route 304 onto Route 59. Michael Magee, age 25, of Stony Point, died around 3:45 a.m., Sunday, June 13, following the crash in Nanuet, said Clarkstown Police Detective Norm Peters.
