She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Boy Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle Near School In Northern Westchester A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bike in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 7:22 p.m. Thursday, June 10 in Bedford Hills. The teen rode his bike into traffic without looking while coming from the area of the Bedford Hills Elementary School on Babbitt Road, said Bedford PD Lt. Jeff Gulick. Ramapo Police Chief Calls It A Career After more than 40 years in law enforcement, Ramapo Police Chief Brad Weidel has retired. Weidel, who retired on Friday, June 11, began his career in December of 1980 with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office. He was hired by the Town of Ramapo Police Department in September 1981. In June 1987 he was promoted to Sergeant. In January 2003 he was promoted to Lieutenant. In February 2004 he was assigned as Detective Lieutenant in the Investigations Division. CT Man Wanted For Multiple Armed Robberies Apprehended A Connecticut man has been arrested for an alleged armed robbery in the parking lot of a bank earlier this year. On Monday, March 1, at around 1 p.m., Milford police responded to an armed robbery in the parking lot of Sikorsky Federal Credit Union, 15 Turnpike Square. Man Found Dead Inside Western Mass Store From Gunshot Wound, Police Say Police in Western Mass are asking the public for help after a man was found dead inside a convenience store from a gunshot wound. Man Jumps To His Death From Roof Of Building In Fairfield County, Police Say A man jumped to his death from the roof of a Fairfield County building. The incident took place around 8:11 a.m., Monday, June 14, in Norwalk. Police responded to numerous 911 calls that a man was lying on Selleck Street and was unresponsive, said Norwalk PD Sgt. Fairfield County Man Identified As Victim Of Fatal Hotel Shooting Police in Fairfield County have released the name of a man killed in a hotel parking lot. Ivan Whyte, age 23, of Bridgeport, was found dead around 11:33 p.m., Saturday, June 12, in Shelton at the Marriott Residence Inn at 1001 Bridgeport Ave. Police and EMS arrived and located Whyte, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police ID Rockland Man Who Died After His Vehicle Fell From Route 304 Overpass Police have released the name of a man who died in a single-vehicle Hudson Valley crash when his vehicle fell from Route 304 onto Route 59. Michael Magee, age 25, of Stony Point, died around 3:45 a.m., Sunday, June 13, following the crash in Nanuet, said Clarkstown Police Detective Norm Peters. According to Peters, Magee was reportedly driving his Ford Mustang, northbound in the southbound lanes on Route 304 for a considerable distance, upwards of over two miles. 25-Year-Old From Hudson Valley Killed In Austin, Texas Mass Shooting A Hudson Valley native was killed during a mass shooting in Austin, Texas that left 13 people injured. Douglas John Kantor, age 25, a native of Airmont in Rockland County, was waiting outside a bar to get in when shots were fired and he was struck in the abdomen and later died. ID Released For Man Shot, Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting In Area A man killed in an officer-involved shooting in the Hudson Valley has been identified. Christopher VanKleeck, age 31, was shot around 3:30 p.m., June 12, in Orange County by a Wallkill police officer following a call for a disturbance, according to Attorney General Letisha James' office.
