Man Nabbed For Tire Dumping Incidents In Westchester County Parks Police say officers arrested a man as he was allegedly preparing to dump a load of tires on a county parkland in Westchester County.  Jose Rivera-Osorio, age 38, of the Bronx, was arrested early Tuesday, May 25, after Yonkers Police observed a U-Haul truck near the entrance to county property off Midland Avenue, said Kieran O'Leary of the Westchester County Police. The blaze in Long Beach, at Sorrento's at 255 West Park Ave., and several adjoining buildings, started around 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 26. As of 8:30 a.m., the Long Beach Fire Department said the fire is "under control," with all visible fires extinguished. Raging Fire Breaks Out At Long Island Funeral Home A Long Island funeral home was destroyed during a raging fire overnight. The fire started just before 11 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, in Suffolk County at the Giove Funeral Home located on Route 25 in Selden, said the Selden Fire Department. A family who lives above the funeral home was awakened by its two dogs who were barking frantically. The family then found smoke and fire in the apartment and was able to escape without injury, the department said. Long Island Man Charged For Fatal Overdose, Police Say A local man has been arrested in connection with the alleged fatal overdose of a Long Island resident. Joseph Demm, age 29, of Hicksville, was arrested around 4:20 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, said the Nassau County Police. According to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives, an investigation into a fatal overdose of a Nassau County resident led to the arrest of Demm. Demm was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 26 in Mineola.
