Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

CT Postal Employee Admits To Stealing Mail A woman who worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service admitted to stealing mail. John H. Durham, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced on Wednesday, Aug. 19 that Amy Makaros, of New Britain, waived her right to be indicted and pleaded guilty to theft of mail by a postal employee. According to court documents and statements made in court, between November 2018 and February 2019, while she was employed as a USPS mail carrier in Farmington, Makaros stole numerous pieces of mail. Person Shot At Rockland Residence A person was wounded in an apparent targeted shooting at a Rockland County residence. It happened around midnight Tuesday, Aug. 18 in Spring Valley on Lake Street. The victim, a 29-year-old man, was hospitalized. "This does not seem to be a random act," the Spring Valley Police Department said in a statement. Westchester Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Taconic Parkway Crash A Westchester man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway  in Putnam County. It happened on Monday, Aug. 17 at around 1:30 p.m. in the town of Kent. Robert J. Costabile, 69, of Valhalla, was operating a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the northbound side near Hortontown Hill Road when, for unknown reasons, was unable to negotiate a curve and lost control before leaving the roadway, state police said. Costabile succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. This investigation remains ongoing.

There were heavy delays during the morning commute on a stretch of I-84 after a tractor-trailer crashed off the roadway. The left lane was closed for several hours on the westbound side in Northern Fairfield County at Exit 3 in Danbury at Route 7 south starting around 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. Police Search For Hit-Run Driver After Crash Injures 14-Year-Old Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver following a crash that injured a 14-year-old in the area. It happened on Saturday, Aug. 15 on Connecticut Avenue in Bridgeport. Officers who arrived on the scene found a 14-year-old with various non-life-threatening injuries to his head and torso.  The teen was transported to Bridgeport Hospital.  Detectives are reviewing video and speaking to witnesses.
