An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Meet Red Bulls Legend At Wawa Grand Opening In Linden A new Wawa is opening with a very special guest. The convenience store is opening a new location on Linden on Thursday, August 24 at 1951 E. Edgar Road. Jersey City Man Had Cocaine, Heroin With Kids In Home: Prosecutors A 38-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and hit with numerous drug charges on Friday, August 18, after police found him in possession of cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, authorities said. Robert Johnson was arrested by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Gangs Task Force after searching his home on Van Wagenen Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Man Dies Playing Soccer In Maryland, Loved Ones Say Akindeji Agarah died doing what he loved. Agarah, 29, was playing soccer on Sunday, Aug. 6 — a game in which he scored a goal — when he fell and started gasping for breath, according to a campaign launched by loved ones. Police Seek ID Of Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Prince George's County Police are seeking the identity of a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash in Prince George's County on Sunday, Aug. 20, authorities said. At 3:15 a.m., the pedestrian was found in the roadway in the 2000 block of University Boulevard in Adelphia, the Prince George's County Police Department said. 'This Is Us' Star Ron Cephas Jones, Of Paterson, Dies At 66 Ron Cephas Jones, a Paterson native who won two Emmys for his role on "This is Us", died on Sunday, Aug. 19 at the age of 66. Jones attended John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson and graduated from Ramapo College. He starred in movies like "He Got Game," "Sweet and Lowdown" and "Across the Universe" and guest starred on "Law and Order," "NYPD Blue" and "Mr. Robot." Man Killed In West New York Apartment Fire: Prosecutors A 55-year-old man was killed in an apartment fire in West New York on Sunday, August 20, authorities said. At 5 a.m. North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue was notified of a fire at an apartment above 6213 Bergenline Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Upon arrival, first responders found heavy smoke coming from a bedroom within the apartment, Suarez said.
