An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Community Rallies To Help Man Get Service Dog An Essex County resident with special needs believes a service dog will change his life for the better. Unfortunately, his insurance won't pay for it. Albie Nieves, a Belleville resident, has launched a fundraiser to help him obtain the dog. As of Thursday, August 17, more than $5,700 has been raised. Nieves is hoping to raise $25,000 to pay for the cost of the dog. "I really need this dog for my independence and confidence in life," said the 23-year-old Nieves, who was born prematurely. WWE Hall Of Famer, Monmouth County Native Pleads No Contest To Fatal DUI Crash Tammy Sytch, a Monmouth County native, who rose to prominence in the 1990s as a manager in the World Wrestling Federation, has pleaded no contest to driving drunk and killing a 75-year-old man in Florida last year according to court documents. Sytch, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011, faces up to 25 years in prison when she is sentenced in November. Maui Wildfires: Union County Woman Rallies Around Friend Loraine Anderson had to watch as wildfires tore through Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. Maui Wildfires: Bloomfield Man Helps Friends In Hawaii Joseph Franco's friends and BJJ teammates have seen the devastation of the Maui wildfires firsthand. Now Franco, a Bloomfield resident is doing what he can to help. A fundraiser has been created to assist Joe and Yehia Refando, Maui residents, who lost their home and all their possessions in the wildfire. Four Jersey City Juveniles Arrested For Overnight Car Burglaries: Linden PD Four Jersey City juveniles were arrested and charged with breaking into vehicles on the early morning of Saturday, August 12, authorities said. Traffic Enforcement Officer Suffers Fractured Hip In Jersey City Crash With SUV: Authorities A Jersey City traffic enforcement officer suffered a fractured hip when the scooter she was riding was struck by an SUV on Tuesday, Aug. 15, authorities said. Teen Sexually Assaulted Rahway Woman: Authorities Elijah Finis, an 18-year-old Woodbridge teenager was charged Tuesday, August 15 with sexually assaulting a Rahway woman on Thursday, August 10, authorities said.
