Elmwood Park Lotto Player Wins $50K The Power Ball drawing on Saturday, August 19 produced a big winner in Bergen County. One New Jersey Lottery ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball, winning the $50,000 second-tier prize. The ticket was sold at M & M Discount Wine & Liquor in Elmwood Park. The winning numbers were 01, 25, 27, 38, and 62. The Red Power Ball number was 13.

Teenage Boy Killed In Newark Double Shooting: Prosecutors A 17-year-old boy was killed and a man was injured in a shooting in Newark on Thursday, August 17, authorities said. At 6:30 p.m., Newark police responded to a report of a car crash and a shooting on the 600 block of South 20th Street in Newark, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Passaic County Toddler Dies After 3-Year Cancer Battle Liam Marquez, the honorary chief of the Totowa Fire Department, died on Thursday, Aug. 17, following a three-year battle with cancer. Liam was just a newborn when he was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancerous tumor that he battled for all three years of his short life. Jersey City Man Charged With Assault After Car Crash: Prosecutors A 45-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged after his vehicle struck another car at a high rate of speed, authorities said. Patrick Gapasin was traveling north on Routes 1 and 9 when his Infinity Q60 collided with a Honda Accord at 7:55 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Sip Avenue intersection, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Three tickets sold in Essex County, Hudson County and Passaic County respectively matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball drawn in the Wednesday, August 16 drawing, netting them $50,000.
