Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Sandra DiRuzza, a village police department spokeswoman, said that at about 3:15 a.m. Monday Mamaroneck patrol officers responded to Madison Street near the 600 block of Mamaroneck Avenue on. Local Firefighters, Police Respond After Car Crashes Into Building LARCHMONT, N.Y., -- A car crashed into a building on Palmer Avenue on Wednesday, prompting a response by local volunteer firefighters, according to Village of Larchmont police. Firefighters found a car smoking from its hood. The driver was not trapped and did not request medical treatment at the accident scene, police said.  No one else was hurt when the car inexplicably crashed at 1833 Palmer Ave., police said. The 4:30 p.m. emergency call caused traffic delays as firefighters made sure the car did not spill gas or become engulfed in flames before it could be towed away.

A child's finger got caught in a water jet at the Mount Pleasant Town Pool, but he was freed during a four-hour rescue effort. The pool remained closed on Thursday for repairs.  The 6-year-old boy was safely transported to an area hospital about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police said in a news release.
