Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Two People Hospitalized In Hyde Park 'Rollover' Crash HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Two people were hospitalized Thursday after a crash in which one of the cars rolled over. Dutchess County sheriff's deputies responded to the two-car accident at 9:17 a.m. near the intersection of Violet Avenue and Cronk Place in Hyde Park. Firefighters Knock Down Blaze at Hero's Sports Bar In Elmsford ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- Elmsford firefighters extinguished a small fire at Hero's Sports Bar in the village on Wednesday morning.  Volunteers from the Elmsford Fire Department were called to 86 East Main St. shortly before 10 a.m.  The one-and-a-half story building -- near the intersection of Route 9A and Route 119 -- that houses Hero's was formerly the site of Gaulin's Restaurant as well as the NY Firehouse Grille. Name Released Of Man Struck, Killed At Harrison Metro-North Station HARRISON, N.Y. -- Metro-North officials released the name on Tuesday of the man struck and killed on Thursday by a New York City-bound train. Westchester's Unemployment Rate Among Lowest Statewide Preliminary jobless rates for June found fewer people were unemployed last month in Westchester County, the Hudson Valley and entire state compared to a year ago, the New York State Labor Department said on Tuesday. Last month's unemployment rates for Westchester (3.8 percent) Putnam (3.7 percent) and Rockland (3.9 percent) were among the lowest of any counties in New York state and jobless numbers in all three counties had fallen since June 2015.  As a region, the three counties of Orange-Rockland-Westcheste enjoyed an unemployment rate of 3.9 percent -- down from 4.7 percent in June 2015.…
