NJ Man Sentenced For Forcing 9-Year-Old Girl To Watch Child Porn While Sexually Assaulting Her A 60-year-old man was sentenced to 35 years in New Jersey State Prison for the sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl, authorities announced. Jose Santana, 60, of Belleville, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Martin Cronin. He must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he will be eligible for parole. Santana was convicted by an Essex County jury of three counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of endangering the welfare of a child on Nov. 15, 2019. Fiery Rollover Crash Kills 1 In Irvington, Reports Say A fiery rollover crash left one person dead and two people injured Sunday night in Irvington, reports say. The driver apparently lost control at Herpers and Coit streets around 9:45 p.m., RLS Media reports. First responders found the car engulfed in flames. One person was pronounced dead at the scene and at least two others were injured, RLS says. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office was apparently called to the scene. Officials did not immediately provide details.

Male Seriously Injured In West New York Hit-Run Crash A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Saturday night in Hudson County. The crash occurred near 58th Street and Boulevard East around 8 p.m. in West New York, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said. One male was found with life-threatening injuries and the scene, and the vehicle -- a mid-sized sedan -- fled, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Onlookers Did Nothing To Stop SEPTA Train Rape, Police Say A Philadelphia man was arrested for raping a woman on a commuter train as other passengers did nothing, authorities said. Surveillance footage caught Fiston Ngoy, 35, was caught assaulting the woman on a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) train toward Upper Darby Wednesday night, local police said. Gunman Who Killed 24-Year-Old Irvington Man At Large, Police Say A 24-year-old man was shot and killed overnight in Irvington, news reports say. Police responding to shots fired found Alexander Saye suffering multiple gunshot wounds at 22 Averne Terrace around 12:25 a.m., RLS Media reports. Saye was pronounced dead at the scene and the gunman remains at large. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office did not immediately respond to Daily Voice's request for comment.

School Bus Driver Among 2 Killed In NJ Crash Mourned As Loving, Affectionate Grandmother A school bus driver was among two people who died in a three-vehicle crash Friday, police said. The International 3000 bus was heading east and carrying 19 students from Olivet Elementary School in Elmer when it was struck by a westbound Nissan Murano on County Road 540 around 4 p.m., New Jersey State Police said in a release. 25-Year-Old Swatara Firefighter Dies By Suicide At Fire Station, Police Say A 25-year-old Pennsylvania firefighter died by suicide at the fire station Thursday, authorities said.
