Jersey City Woman, 27, Found Dead In Apartment
A 27-year-old woman was found dead in her Jersey City apartment on Tuesday, authorities said. Diamond Davila was found by police at 131 Woodlawn Ave., around 2:30 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Davila was pronounced deceased at 3:08 p.m. Her death is being investigated as a homicide, and the cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday. …

Hollywood is coming to North Jersey: A major movie will be filming in Bergen County this month and next. Directed by James Gray, "Armageddon Time" will be shooting scenes at a house in Teaneck Vandelinda Avenue through mid-November, township officials said. 2 Fighting For Life, 2 Moderately Hurt In Kearny Crash
Two people were seriously injured and two were moderately hurt in a Kearny crash Tuesday morning, authorities said. A 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer struck a disabled tractor trailer just after 4 a.m. near Route 7 and Harrison Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The 21-year-old driver, a Garfield man, and a second rear passenger, a 20-year-old male, are listed in stable condition. No Vaccine, No Job: 118 NJ Hospital Network Employees Fired
More than 100 employees of New Jersey's largest health care system were fired for refusing to comply with its COVID vaccination policy, officials said. RWJBarnabas Health gave employees a deadline of Oct. 15 to receive the shots, and 118 of them apparently did not, news reports say. “Regrettably, and despite all best efforts, 118 staff members have not complied with the mandate and are no longer employees of RWJBarnabas Health, per our vaccine mandate policy,” a spokeswoman told NJ Advance Media in a statement. A Somerset County jury returned guilty verdicts of attempted murder and other charges against a 39-year-old man for trying to kill his ex-girlfriend and another man in a 2018 drive-by shooting. Robert W. Details Released In Deadly Route 78 Dump Truck Crash That Killed Driver, 47
A 47-year-old Guttenberg man died in a dump truck crash Monday on Route 78, New Jersey State Police said. John Morales was heading west when his truck suffered tire failure around 2:30 p.m. near mile post 43.4 in Berkley Heights, NJSP Sgt. Alejandro Goez said. The truck crossed the roadway to the left, struck a guardrail and overturned, Goez said. The truck went through the center median and ultimately overturned down an embankment. Morales was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles or victims were involved.

Man Wanted For Knocking Victim Unconscious In Newark, Police Say
Police in Newark are seeking a man who they say knocked a victim unconscious during an argument earlier this month. The man pictured above apparently joined an argument on the 100 block of Fleming Avenue, which left the victim unconscious Oct. 10, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said. Kearny Girl, 17, Charged In Death Of Baby Found In Trash Can
A 17-year-old girl was arrested in the death of an infant last October in Hudson County, authorities said. The Kearny teen was charged with aggravated manslaughter, child endangerment and desecrating human remains, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The girl was charged as a juvenile. A Change.org petition called "Justice for Baby Matthew" was launched by Angela Owens last October, after the infant was found in a trash can. More than 2,100 signatures had been garnered as of Oct. 18, 2021.

Deadly Dump Truck Crash Closes Route 78
A fatal crash involving an overturned dump truck closed Route 78 in Union County Monday, authorities said. The crash occurred at mile post 43 in Berkley Heights, closing all eastbound lanes and the left center westbound lane, NJ State Police said.
