Man Ejected, Seriously Injured In Route 78 Crash That Jammed Traffic For Hours: Police
A 33-year-old man was ejected and seriously injured in a crash on Route 78 that left four others with minor injuries Friday in Bethlehem, New Jersey State Police said. A westbound Nissan Armada lost control, struck the center concrete barrier and overturned around 7:20 p.m. near mile post 9.8, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. UPDATE: A boy reported missing out of Newark has been located. Jahzir Lopez, age 10, had last been seen leaving the 700 block of South 12th Street, walking towards Clinton Avenue at approximately 5:45 p.m. Friday, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.

9-Year-Old Boy Shot In Newark
A 9-year-old boy was shot in Newark on Friday evening, authorities confirmed Police were called to the 200 block of South Orange around 6:35 p.m., where the boy was found -- grazed by gunfire, Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. The boy was taken to University Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. No other injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation. No further information was available.

Newark Officer Fires Gun At Dog Who Bit Him, Police Say
A Newark office fired his gun at a dog who bit him Friday afternoon, authorities said. The officer discharged one round at the dog on the 300 block of Emmet Street, but the dog was not injured around 1:50 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian O'Hara said. The officer was transported to University Hospital for treatment and the incident was under investigation.
