Fugitive Captured 1 Month After Elbowing Pregnant Woman's Stomach, Police In York County Say
A man wanted for elbowing a pregnant woman's stomach and punching the back of her head several times was arrested after more than a month on the run, authorities said. Carroll Township officers responded to the 800 block of Route 15 northbound for a domestic assault around 1:51 a.m. July 29, local police said. Lancaster Man Threatens To 'Blow Up' Court In 12 Harrassing Phone Calls, Police Say
A 40-year-old Lancaster man with a pending court case was arrested after calling court employees 12 times and threatening to "blow the place up," authorities said. Ryan W. Bunting called was using foul language while speaking to the District Court employees regarding a pending case, Manheim Township Police Department said. Workers disconnected the call, but Bunting called back more than 12 times and continued harassing workers, police said. Police are hoping that a unique tattoo resembling a solar eclipse will help them identify a body found off the coast New Jersey coast last month. The New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau responded to reports of a body found about a mile off the shoreline of Sea Bright (Monmouth County) just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29. The body is described as a male between 20 to early 40s, around 5’ 11”, approximately 190 pounds, wearing dark blue jeans, a black belt and black Nike sneakers. A 39-year-old man died and another was hospitalized in a fiery Old Bridge crash early Sunday morning, authorities said. The driver of a Nissan Versa lost control on a sharp bend on Texas Road and crossed into oncoming traffic before hitting a Hyundai Elantra around 2:15 a.m., police said. The Nissan overturned and burst into flames, killing the 39-year-old Monroe driver, Ryan Pomales, said police and those who knew him. A 3-year-old boy and his 56-year-old grandmother were hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in North Bergen, authorities said. The two were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center after being struck at 46th Street and Tonnelle Avenue early Saturday morning, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A Chester City building was burned to the ground in a multi-alarm fire that had crews on scene for nearly five hours Saturday. The blaze on the 200 block of Trainer Street broke out around 7:15 p.m. and brought more than a dozen fire departments to the scene. Teen Boy Dead, 2 Others Hospitalized After Near-Drowning At NJ Beach
A 17-year-old boy died and two other victims his age were hospitalized after being pulled from the waters of a New Jersey beach Saturday, authorities say. Lifeguards ran into the waters of the Sandy Hook Unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area's Beach B to rescue the trio around 4:30 p.m., according to the National Parks Service. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene while the two other teens -- both 17, a boy and a girl -- were taken to Monmouth Medical Center in unknown condition.
