Pilot Killed In PA Plane Crash ID'd As Air Force Vet The pilot who died in a plane crash Friday at a Pennsylvania airport has been identified as a 50-year-old U.S. Air Force veteran. Andy Travnicek was heading north in a T-6 Texan when the plane suddenly veered to the left and crashed into the grass and caught fire at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport around 12:35 p.m. Travnicek, the sole occupant of the air craft, was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a commercial airline pilot, and a certified flight instructor. The plane was part of the GEICO Skytypers Air Show Team, which flies World War II-era aircrafts. …

8-Year-Old NJ Girl Critical After Falling Into Retention Pond An 8-year-old girl was in critical condition after falling into a retention pond near her home Thursday afternoon in Burlington County, authorities said. Crews resuscitated the girl after finding her in a body near the 100 block of Colemantown Drive in Chesterfield around 4 p.m., Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Joel Bewley told Daily Voice. She was flown to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and remains critical, he said. The girl had reportedly left her nearby home a short while earlier, said Bewley, calling the incident "accidental and tragic."

Police K9 Ranger was able to track the toddler and Dennys Narvaez down using an article of the child's clothing left at the scene around 9 a.m. Aug. 19, Police Capt. Eric Amato said. The scent led officers to a nearby apartment complex where officers located Narvaez and the 3-year-old boy in an apartment, Amato said.
