Vatican City, NJ Priests Using Hookup Apps Alarms Catholic Church Officials, Reports Say
A conservative Catholic media organization has published a series of reports claiming that priests at New Jersey churches and the Vatican have been using hookup apps. "The Pillar" collected and reviewed commercially available app signal indicating patterns on location-based hookup apps at more than 10 rectories within the Archdiocese of Newark between 2018 and 2020, the blog reported July 23. 2 Teens Struck By Car Walking On Route 130
A pair of teens walking on Route 130 were struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Cinnaminson, police say. The incident occurred near Albany Road and closed the area until around 2 a.m. The male and female victims were taken to Cooper University Hospital, where they remained in stable condition. The driver remained at the scene.

Prosecutor: 23-Year-Old Drunk Driver Kills Man In Camden County Pedestrian Crash
A 23-year-old woman was driving drunk when she struck and killed a pedestrian Thursday, authorities said. Officers responding to Blackwood-Clementon Road at Spring Garden Street found 56-year-old David Bonnet, of Gloucester Township, lying in the roadway around 2:20 a.m., Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Pine Hill Police Chief Christopher Winters said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Chester Baby Girl Accidentally Shot In Head, Police Say
Authorities in Chester are investigating the accidental shooting of a baby Thursday evening. The 11-month-old girl was rushed to the hospital after the incident at 411 Frank Young Avenue around 7:30 p.m., Chester Police Capt. James Chubb said. Officers found that the baby was accidentally struck in the head. She was at the hospital with her mom and other family members and friends, police said. The baby received advanced medical treatment from the staff at Crozer Chester Medical center and then was transported to Dupont Hospital, where she received further intense medical treatment. …

PD: K9 Sniffs Out NJ Man Who Beat Toddler With Tree Limb, Carried Him By Hair
A 33-year-old man was arrested after he was spotted beating a toddler with a tree limb and then carrying him away by his hair, authorities in Bayonne said. Police K9 Ranger was able to track the toddler and Dennys Narvaez down using an article of the child's clothing left at the scene around 9 a.m. Aug. 19, Police Capt. Eric Amato said. The scent led officers to a nearby apartment complex where officers located Narvaez and the 3-year-old boy in an apartment, Amato said. Narvaez was arrested and the boy was evaluated at a nearby hospital as a precaution.

Third Time's A Charm: Unruly Man Arrested For Refusing To Leave Bayonne Walmart, Police Say
Third time proved to be the charm for a defiant man who refused to leave a Bayonne Walmart after causing a disturbance, police say. Anthony Millington was twice asked by employees and police to leave on Aug. 17, Bayonne Police Capt. Eric Amato said. On Aug. 18, a similar situation happened. Officers arrived at the scene and tried to stop Millington to investigate the incident around 8:40 p.m. -- but he ignored commands, Amato said. Goats, Birds Seized In Jersey City Cruelty Incident Possibly Involving Witchcraft
Goats and birds were surrendered in an animal cruelty incident Thursday in Jersey City, officials said. Officers saw the animals in the home at 141 Van Horne St., in the afternoon hours. Unconfirmed and initial police reports cited possible witchcraft, along with dead and alive animals on the property "The City is working with the Liberty Humane Society on the safe surrender of the animals," Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. The JCPD’s investigation is ongoing.

Report: Murphy To Announce NJ Teachers Must Be Vaccinated
A recent news report says that Gov. Phil Murphy is expected to announce that New Jersey teachers must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Two anonymous sources confirmed the pending announcement exclusively to NJ Advance Media. Washington and California are the only other two states to require teachers be COVID-19 vaccinated. A spokesperson with the New Jersey Education Association said teachers have been preparing for a possible mandate. Murphy will hold his weekly COVID-19 briefing Monday morning. Ocean County Man Indicted On Attempted Murder Charge
A 52-year-old Jersey Shore man was indicted on attempted murder charges months in the shooting a 55-year-old man, authorities announced. Donald Rutter, of Tuckerton, was indicted on Aug. 19 by an Ocean County Grand Jury on charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon in a Jan. 5 shooting, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D.
