Third Time's A Charm: Unruly Man Arrested For Refusing To Leave Bayonne Walmart, Police Say
Third time proved to be the charm for a defiant man who refused to leave a Bayonne Walmart after causing a disturbance, police say. Anthony Millington was twice asked by employees and police to leave on Aug. 17, Bayonne Police Capt. Eric Amato said. On Aug. 18, a similar situation happened. Officers arrived at the scene and tried to stop Millington to investigate the incident around 8:40 p.m. -- but he ignored commands, Amato said. Goats, Birds Seized In Jersey City Cruelty Incident Possibly Involving Witchcraft
Goats and birds were surrendered in an animal cruelty incident Thursday in Jersey City, officials said. Officers saw the animals in the home at 141 Van Horne St., in the afternoon hours. Unconfirmed and initial police reports cited possible witchcraft, along with dead and alive animals on the property "The City is working with the Liberty Humane Society on the safe surrender of the animals," Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. The JCPD’s investigation is ongoing.

Report: Murphy To Announce NJ Teachers Must Be Vaccinated
A recent news report says that Gov. Phil Murphy is expected to announce that New Jersey teachers must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Two anonymous sources confirmed the pending announcement exclusively to NJ Advance Media. Washington and California are the only other two states to require teachers be COVID-19 vaccinated. A spokesperson with the New Jersey Education Association said teachers have been preparing for a possible mandate. Murphy will hold his weekly COVID-19 briefing Monday morning. Ocean County Man Indicted On Attempted Murder Charge
A 52-year-old Jersey Shore man was indicted on attempted murder charges months in the shooting a 55-year-old man, authorities announced. Donald Rutter, of Tuckerton, was indicted on Aug. 19 by an Ocean County Grand Jury on charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon in a Jan. 5 shooting, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Authorities have released harrowing details in the June 22 shooting in Chester County. Lynelle Flowers, 26, and Zahir Randall, 21 -- both of Philadelphia -- were arrested and charged with homicide, first-degree murder and more, in connection with the shooting death of Tariq Scott, Jr., in Sadsbury, the Chester County DA's Office and PA State Police said. Jersey City Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Montclair Girl, 13, He Met Online
A 24-year-old Jersey City man was charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl he met online, authorities said. Members of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit were tipped off in January that Steffon Fowler had sexually assaulted the Montclair girl after meeting on social media, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Fowler was arrested on Aug. 17 at his residence on Arlington Avenue without incident, and surrendered to authorities without incident, Suarez said. Authorities ID Man Shot Dead In Trenton Alleyway
A 37-year-old man was shot and killed in Trenton early Thursday morning. Officers found Herberth Ramirez Pimentel unresponsive just after 4 a.m., having suffered a gunshot wound on Ditmar Alley, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. A local couple who fell in love with food -- and then each other -- has rolled out a food truck in Bergen County. NJ Yeshiva Student, 19, Killed In Denver Crime Spree
A 19-year-old man from New Jersey was killed during a crime spree outside of his Yeshiva Tuesday night in Denver. Shmuel Silverberg's body has been flown to Lakewood for a funeral service. The incident started with a call of a carjacking, in which a suspect got into a Honda CRV with the driver inside and pointed a gun at them. That victim was not injured, police say. Cherry Hill PD: Man Impersonating Police Pulled Woman Over, Tried Grabbing Her Neck
Police in Cherry Hill are searching for a man who pulled over a woman while impersonating police and tried grabbing her by her neck. The man was in a white Ford van with red and blue LED warning lights in the grill and rear doors. The woman said he pulled her over on Aug. 16 around 1:05 p.m. on Route 38.
