More than 9,000 North Bergen, Gutternberg and West New York residents were without power Sunday, April 30. "It Ends With Us" — a movie based on the Colleen Hoover romance novel starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni — is filming in New Jersey and looking for extras who match those specifications. A pair of Philadelphia police officers returned fire at a 65-year-old suspect who shot at them during a 14-hour standoff over the weekend, authorities tell Daily Voice. The second of two weekend storms was in full swing Sunday afternoon, April 30, with heavy rains pouring down and a flood watch in effect across New Jersey and greater Philadelphia. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain were expected to come down Sunday, and up to four total for the weekend. Drunk Man Shot For Leaning On Car In Elizabeth: PD
A very drunk man was shot outside of an Elizabeth parking lot because another man was upset he was leaning on his car, authorities said. The vehicle was parked in a lot near North Avenue on Spring Street, Elizabeth police spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right side of his ribcage around 2:50 a.m. Sunday, April 30, and was hospitalized in stable condition. Police ID Trio Killed In Quadruple Philadelphia Shooting; Teens Charged
Police have identified the three victims killed in the Lawncrest shooting in Philadelphia on Friday afternoon, April 28. Additionally, two people have been charged. Khalif Frezghi, 18; Malik Ballard, 17; and Salah Fleming, 14; all died in the incident on the 5900 block of Palmetto Street at about 3:35 p.m. A 16-year-old boy was injured. At least one juvenile was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Saturday afternoon, April 29 in Delaware County.
