State Police ID Driver, 74, Killed In GSP Crash In Cape May County New Jersey State Police have identified the 74-year man killed in a Garden State Parkway crash in Cape May County Saturday, Feb. 25, authorities said. Olen Jayme, of Neptune, died in the crash, State Police said. A Volvo heading south veered off the roadway and struck two trees near milepost 12.4 around 4:20 p.m., State Police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chicken Waste Spill Causes HazMat Situation Along South Jersey Highway A trailer hauling chicken waste products crashed, spilling its contents all over Route 55 and causing a HazMat situation in Gloucester County on Monday, Feb. 27. The northbound side of the roadway was closed in Deptford from mile marker 59.2 to the Route 42 interchange following the 9 a.m. crash. The roadway had reopened as of 1:45 p.m., but crews were still on scene for cleanup. HazMat crews, the New Jersey State Police, NJDOT, and multiple fire departments were on scene. Environmental services were notified and were monitoring the incident. No injuries were reported.

Man Struck Dead By Family Member In Somerset County: Prosecutor A 41-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a family member over the weekend, authorities in Somerset County said. The unidentified victim was hit around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, outside of his home on Clark Lane in Hillsborough, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. The death remains under investigation by detectives pending an autopsy and toxicology report from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings. Snow Totals Increase In Latest Winter Storm Predictions The latest forecast has increased the amount of snow in what's expected to be the first winter storm headed to the region Monday, Feb. 27. Up to eight inches was being predicted as of Monday morning by the National Weather Service, for the areas north of Route 80 in North Jersey and the Poconos. Parts of Bergen, Passaic, Warren, and Essex counties could see between three and seven inches, while the Route 78 corridor will likely be getting a wintry mix. Victim Slain In Mid-Morning Baltimore Porch Shooting ID'd Up to $8,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible for killing a woman on a Baltimore porch last week. Renyse Jones was gunned down at a home at 2739 West North Ave., around 10:40 a.m. on Feb. 20, according to the Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland and city police. 40 Minutes Apart: Baltimore Homicides Leave Two Dead On Same Day A pair of Baltimore shootings left two people dead in the span of approximately 40 minutes on Sunday, Feb. 26. The first happened just before 5:55 p.m. on the 5500 block of Bowley's Lane, where police found three men ages 18, 19 and 21, having suffered gunshot wounds, city police said.
