A Morris County jury has returned a guilty verdict against a 29-year-old man who beat his girlfriend's 3-year-old son dead at a hotel in 2021, authorities announced. Edwin Urbina was convicted of first-degree murder with an aggravating factor, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, hindering apprehension, and tampering with evidence, following a seven-day trial, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. A 34-year-old Jersey City police officer has been arrested on accusations she allowed a fugitive wanted for attempted murder to stay in her house while knowing all along they were wanted, authorities said. A 23-year-old Somerset County man was charged with attempted murder after ramming a vehicle into a victim before firing a gun at him over the weekend, authorities said. Justice P. Homeless Woman Stuck In Car Freed By Responders In Newark
A homeless woman seeking shelter in the cab of an abandoned vehicle was freed by responders in Newark on Tuesday, Feb. 28. It was unclear how long the woman had been in the vehicle on the 1200 block of McCarter Highway when Newark Police Emergency Service Unit members responded to 911 calls around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
