Nine Lottery Winners Totaling $110K Sold Across New Jersey
Eight Mega Millions tickets worth $10,000 and one good for $30,000 were sold across New Jersey. The tickets from the Tuesday, Jan. 10 drawing won the third-tier prize. The $30,000 winner was purchased with the Megaplier option, tripling the prize. A $1 million ticket was sold in Ocean County. Police ID 23-Year-Old Fatally Struck By Truck In Hillside
Authorities have identified the 23-year-old Hillside man struck and killed by a truck on Tuesday, Jan. 10, authorities said. Derek J. Scott was in the roadway in front of 11 Vine St. when he was struck around 10:45 a.m., HPD Chief Vincent Ricciardi said. It wasn't immediately clear why he was in the street at the moment of the incident.

A high school basketball coach in Hudson County was arrested after authorities said he went into a girls' locker room and sent inappropriate messages to three teen girls on social media. Memorial High School coach Ariel Alava, 41, of West New York, went into the locker room after a football game in Jersey City on Jan. 27, 2022, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Baltimore's Leslie George died after a valiant cancer battle on Monday, Jan. 2. She was 46 years old. Leslie was rushed to the emergency room due to pain in her lower back and legs sometime last year, loved ones said on a GoFundMe. Scans showed fractures in her spine from the cancer in her bones. Man Dies Removing Christmas Lights In Fall From Ladder In Union County: Police
A 62-year-old man died when he fall from a ladder removing Christmas lights in Union County over the weekend, authorities said. The man landed on a concrete walkway and hit his head outside of his Ray Avenue home in Union Township around 11:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, township police said. There were apparently no witnesses at the scene, so it was unclear high how he was when he fell, police tell NJ Advance Media. The unnamed victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
