Morris County's Justin Seekamp Becomes Organ Donor
Morris County's Justin Seekamp died on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Newton Medical Center, and became an organ donor. He was 39 years old. A dad of two, Seekamp was "the loudest parent at every swim meet" and popular member of the Cranberry Lake community, according to his obituary. It's where he chose to propose to his fiance Lauren Schaeffner last summer. Seekamp was raised in Parsippany, and was a member of the high school football team. Priest-Turned-Bookstore Owner From Jersey Shore Convicted In Virginia Of Having Sex With Teen
A former Virginia priest from New Jersey has been convicted of sexually assaulting a teen in 1985, authorities announced. Scott Asalone, 65, was arrested in Asbury Park — where he owned a bookstore — in March 2020. A grand jury in Virginia indicted Asalone three days earlier on what is known there as "carnal knowledge of a minor" between 13 and 15 years old. The incident involves a former parishioner in 1985 while Asalone was a member of the clergy assigned to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville, Asalone was removed from public duties in 1993 and dismissed from …

62-Year-Old Man Dead, 2 Critical In Morris County Weekend House Fire
A 62-year-old man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a weekend fire in Morris County, authorities tell Daily Voice. Gregory Balbirnie was found dead while two other victims rescued, a male and female, were taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in the Saturday, Dec. 10 fire on Cypress and Elm places in Randolph, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Records show Balbirnie previously lived in Downington, PA. He worked as a realtor in Exton for the past several years, his LinkedIn profile shows. The fire remains under investigation.

US Marshals Capture Pair In 16-Year-Old Jersey City Boy's 2021 Murder
Two men have been charged in connection with the March 2021 murder of a 16-year-old Jersey City boy, authorities announced Monday, Dec. 12. Members of the US Marshals Service captured Khalil Kelley, 23, at his job in Hillside on Friday, Dec. 9, while Roger Pickett Jr., 22, was charged at the Hudson County Jail where he's detained on charges relating to a Nov. 1, 2022 shooting death, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A sailboat headed to Florida from New Jersey has been reported missing by the US Coast Guard. Kevin Hyde, 64, and Joe DiTommasso, 76, departed Cape May on the Atrevida II NJ 7033HN) and is headed toward Marathon, FL, the US Coast Guard said. One person died and two people including a teen girl were wounded in a home invasion shooting Sunday, Dec. 11 in Philadelphia, authorities said. Two black males kicked in the front door of a home on the 1800 block of Diamond Street around 12:45 p.m., city police said. Two drivers exchanged gunfire in a road rage shooting on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia on Sunday, Dec. 11, police said. The victim was heading south approaching Exit 12 when a driver in a Kia K5 sedan opened fire during a dispute around 7:50 a.m., hitting the victim's chrome molding of the front passenger door, State Police said.
