A pair of cousins whose families moved to the United States from Cuba are opening their third Cuban bakery in Hudson County. Daniel Gonzalez and Yosvany Perez purchased two El Fenix locations in Union City and West New York, from another family in 2019, and revamped the menus. Arsonist Caused Blaze That Evacuated Lehigh Valley Red Roof Inn: Police
A 38-year-old man has been charged with arson in a fire that evacuated 52 rooms at a Lehigh Valley Red Roof Inn last week, according to news reports and authorities. John Henry Zarzycki was arrested after the 8:12 a.m. blaze Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Palmer Township Red Roof Inn, according to local police. A 44-year-old Roselle man was shot and killed in broad daylight over the weekend in Rahway, authorities said. Jack Harris was found suffering gunshot wounds on the 1400 block of Witherspoon Avenue around 12:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. A high school basketball player has died in a Northern Virginia crash, and another juvenile has been charged in his death, according to officials and county police. Braylon Meade, a senior basketball player at Washington-Liberty High School, was trying to make a U-turn on Old Dominion Drive when he was struck by a speeding SUV around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, Arlington County police said. Arrest Made In Baltimore County Man's Murder: Police
Police in Baltimore County have arrested an 18-year-old suspect in the murder of a 42-year-old man, they announced. Elijah Sattler was being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center in the death of Tyran Caulk, county police said. Sattler is facing a first-degree murder charge, robbery and a weapons offense in connection with the Saturday, Nov. 12 shooting on Berliner Place, authorities said. 18-Year-Old Shot Dead At Reading Student Housing Complex
An 18-year-old man was shot and killed in Reading, authorities said. Diego Velazquez was shot around 12:50 a.m. at the Blady Road-Advantage Point off-campus student-housing development in Maxatawny Township, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said. Velazquez's death, which occurred near Kutztown University, was ruled a homicide with an autopsy scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14. In addition to the coroner's office, this death is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police, Reading Station and the Berks County District Attorney's Office.
