Jersey City Killer Learns His Fate For Elizabeth Murder
A 28-year-old Jersey City man has received his punishment for the 2019 killing of an Elizabeth man. Anthony Reciofigueroa was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 6 to 55 years in New Jersey state prison for the shooting death of Carlos Rodriguez, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said. Reciofigueroa in June was found guilty of murder and unlawful weapon possession after a three-week trial before Union County Superior Court Judge John Deitch. Authorities have identified the victim killed in a crash on Interstate 95 Tuesday, Oct. 11. Jose Davi Hernandez-Zelayandia had gotten out of his 2011 Honda Accord to assess an issue with it and as he was getting back in, was struck by a Nissan Sentra that had run off the road around 3:05 p.m. at mile marker 169 in Fairfax County, Virginia State Police said. Maryland Sisters Ambushed On Las Vegas Strip
A pair of Baltimore sisters away on a girls trip were among eight victims of an unprovoked attack on the Las Vegas strip last week. Gabby and Cassy Hewes and the six other people were stabbed near the Wynn Las Vegas around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, according to loved ones and local police. Two of those victims died. The suspect has been identified as Yoni Barrios, a 32-year-old Guatemalan native who carried out the attack to "let the anger out," abc7 reports. More than $16,000 had been raised for the Hewes sisters on a GoFundMe page as of Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Man Shot Dead By Cherry Hill Police Officer: AG
A man was shot and killed by a Cherry Hill police officer Tuesday, Oct. 11, state officials said. The State Attorney General's Office released few details, noting only that the incident occurred around 2 p.m. near the 3000 block of Chapel Avenue West in Cherry Hill. This investigation is being conducted by the Integrity Bureau within the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability, as is protocol with all police-involved shootings in New Jersey. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.

Three Hospitalized When Vans Collide In Ho-Ho-Kus
Three people were hospitalized in a Ho-Ho-Kus crash Tuesday, Oct. 11. The minivan and the work van collided at the intersection of Wearimus and Deerhill roads sometime in the afternoon hours. Both occupants of the minivan, a man and woman, were hospitalized, as was the driver of the work van. The minivan driver was apparently issued a summons. Both vehicles were towed by CityWide towing.
