Drunken Man Assaults Officer At Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital: Police
A drunken man was arrested for assaulting a police officer while checking into Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital, authorities said. Eric Oberly, 40, of Ephrata, was trying to get through the hospital's check-in process when he "squared off against an Ephrata police officer" on Friday, Sept. 20, local police said. Oberly pushed past the officer, and performed a "palm strike," hitting the officer in the eye, authorities said. Oberly was transported to the Lancaster County Prison for arraignment. He was charged with public drunkenness and aggravated assault.

Baby, Woman From Maryland ID'd As Victims Of US Route 222 Crash: Report
An 8-month-old baby and 76-year-old woman from Maryland have been identified as the victims killed in the US Route 222 crash earlier this week, according to Lancaster Online. The cause of death for both baby Kimberly Babila and Bridgette Arrah, 76, of Prince George's, was accidental, the outlet said citing Lancaster County Coroner Stephen Diamantoni. Records show Arrah also has ties to Manassas, VA. The crash happened between Exit: I-76 turnpike/PA 272 – PA Turnpike/Denver and Exit: US 322 – Blue Ball, on Tuesday, Sept. 27, according to PennDOT. Murder Suspect Found At New Brunswick Train Station With Knife: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old New York man has been charged in the stabbing death of a 20-year-old man this week in Somerset County, authorities said. Jahkoy Monsanto is facing a first-degree murder charge, and various weapons offenses, in the killing of J’Corey Breedy on Thursday, Sept. 29 in Franklin Township, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. A 19-year-old barber and former high school football player has been identified as the victim of a "targeted" shooting earlier this week in York County, according to authorities and online records. Ethan Mooney was killed on Tuesday, Sept. 27, and authorities have identified Tyrell Shyheim Christian, 28, as a suspect, according to the York County coroner and local police. Woman, 25, Gunned Down In Broad Daylight In Newark
A 25-year-old East Orange woman was shot dead in Newark earlier this week, authorities said. Juan Sharonda Fonrose was found having suffered gunshot wounds on the 400 block of Central Avenue around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said. The driver who backed into a 17-year-old girl, killing her, was trying to flee from an assailant outside of a Philadelphia charter school earlier this week, police said. The unidentified driver backed into Saniah Moore outside of Excel Academy South on Wednesday, Sept. 28 around 1:55 p.m., according to city police and Moore's family. Manslaughter Charge Filed In Kearny Man's Killing
A man previously charged with desecration of human remains in the killing of a Kearny man is facing an additional, more serious offense: Aggravated manslaughter.
