Popeyes Opens Third Paramus Location
There's certainly no shortage of Popeyes restaurants in Paramus. The popular fast-food chicken chain has opened its third in the borough. This one is located 160-162 Route 4 east, in the former Dress Barn store. Popeyes' other two Paramus locations are 786 Route 17 and 282 Route 4.

Remnants Of Hurricane Ian To Drench NJ This Weekend
As Hurricane Ian loosens its grip on Florida and turns to the Carolinas, New Jersey will be getting some remnants of the storm over the weekend. Rain is expected to begin in the evening hours Friday, Sept. 30 and continue through around the same time on Sunday, Oct. 2, according to the National Weather Service. The northern-most part of the Garden State can expect about a quarter inch to an inch-and-a-half of rain, while the Jersey Shore and the southern-most areas of the state could between three and four inches. Manslaughter Charge Filed In Kearny Man's Killing
A man previously charged with desecration of human remains in the killing of a Kearny man is facing an additional, more serious offense: Aggravated manslaughter. The charge was filed against Matthew Kochell, 32, in the Tuesday, Sept. 20 stabbing death of Corey McFadden, who was found laying on the ground near Belgrove Drive and Afton Street with multiple stab wounds to his lower body around 5:45 a.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Jeff Bezos' ex-wife MacKenzie Scott has apparently filed for divorce from her second husband Dan Jewett, who taught chemistry in suburban Philadelphia, after less than two years of marriage. Apple TV+ Show Filming In Baltimore Needs Young Men To Play Army Recruits
Men ages 18 to 40 are being sought to play Army recruits in an Apple TV+ show filming in Baltimore. The extras are needed for "Flamingo," the adaptation of the novel "Lady in the Lake," and will be paid $120 to $250. Filming will take place on Friday, Sept. 30 "Lady in the Lake" is based on the Laura Lippman novel of the same name that centers around an investigative journalist working on unsolved murder cases. : Charges Upgraded For Ex-Marine In NJ Sports Bar Shooting, Police Say
Charges against a former US Marine have been upgraded to murder after the victim who he shot in the head outside of a New Jersey sports bar died, authorities confirmed. Walter J. Gilliano, 25, of Franklinville, was initially charged with attempted murder, after he shot 31-year-old Chad Stuart in the head outside of Villari's Sports Bar around 4:45 a.m. Saturday, according to the Franklin Township Police Department. A 21-year-old Newark man was killed and another victim hurt in a West Orange shooting on Tuesday, Sept. 27, authorities said. Corington Valentin was found with gunshot wounds on the 100 block of Watson Avenue around 3:20 p.m., and rushed to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Allentown police released a statement addressing a video circulating on social media that shows an officer slamming a man to the ground (scroll for video). 22-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Essex County Crash
A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an Essex County crash Tuesday, Sept. 27, authorities said. Jordan A. Mayrant, of Bloomfield, was riding on Bloomfield Avenue when his Yamaha YZF collided with an Audi Q5 at High Street in Glen Ridge around 4 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Glen Ride Police Chief Sean Quinn said. Mayrant was taken to University Hospital, Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m. No charges have been filed against the Audi driver. Victim Of NJ Sports Bar Shooting, Chad Stuart, Becomes Organ Donor
The man shot in the head outside of a South Jersey bar allegedly by a former US Marine over the weekend has died, and his organs will save the lives of others, family members tell Daily Voice.
