A North Jersey man who apparently thought he hit a deer when he actually struck and killed a 12-year-old boy in 2019 has been found guilty in the child's death, authorities announced. A Union County jury found 39-year-old Jose Marrero guilty on charges relating to the Summer 2019 death of Jeremy Maraj in Union, Prosecutor William A. Daniel said. A 34-year-old Queens, NY man shot and killed himself at a popular Union County gun range early this week, authorities confirmed. Union Township officers responded to RTSP on Route 22 east around 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, where they found the man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Police Capt.Pietro DiGena said. The victim was identified as a customer of the establishment. His name was not released. Hanging Victim Cut Down From Elizabeth Tree
First responders reportedly cut a hanging victim down from a tree in Elizabeth Tuesday, March 29. The man was found by responders hanging in an empty lot next to 339 Marshall St. at 9:53 p.m., City Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said. He was pronounced dead at 10:16 p.m., she said. His identity was not immediately released and the incident remains under investigation.
