Flying Chairs Apparently Mistaken For Gunshots At Arundel Mills Mall What some initially thought was a shooting turned out to be chairs being thrown during a brawl that broke out in the food court of the Arundel Mills Mall Saturday, March 26. Rumors of a shooting spread like wildfire on social media. Police ultimately concluded that people were "acting rowdy" and throwing chairs in the evening hours, WJZ reports. Bucks Sex Offender Gave Police Fake Address, Arrested For Violating Megan's Law: Authorities A convicted sex offender was arrested for failing to register his home address under Megan's Law, authorities in Bucks County announced. Epifano Riberas had given police a completely made up address, Penndel police said. A search for Riberas began March 3, ahead of an upcoming trial for an unrelated incident, while authorities tried to verify his home address, Penndel police said. Teresa Giudice Recovering From Emergency Surgery: Report "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice is recovering from non-cosmetic emergency surgery, Page Six reports. The Morris County mom was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday, March 23 to have her appendix removed, the outlet said. Gia posted a photo of her 49-year-old mom in the hospital captioned "Such a trooper. I love you." Giudice was released from the hospital Friday and was recovering at home. Hiker Pulled From Potomac River After Falling From Trail A hiker was rescued from the Potomac River in Montgomery County after falling from a trail on Saturday, March 26. Several rescue boats were deployed to the area of the river near Billy Goat Trail A around 4:30 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said. Temps hovered around 40 degrees as rescuers pulled the hiker to shore. Injuries were unknown as of 7:40 p.m. The trail is 4.7 miles long and follows a path between the C&O Canal and Potomac River within the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park. It is located near MoCo's Great Falls.

5.5 Pounds Of Coke Seized In Undercover Hudson County Drug Bust: Prosecutor Nearly 5.5 pounds of cocaine was seized from three men in an undercover Hudson County drug bust, authorities said. Nicolas Mora-Daza, 24, of Union City, Christopher Gonzalez, 33 of Union City and John Perez, 31, of Weehawken, sold cocaine to an undercover officer multiple times over the course of a month, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Nearly $125,000 worth of cocaine was seized from the trio as a result of a search warrant at a Weehawken home, Suarez said. Unsafe Levels Of Toxic Chemicals Found In Packaging At 8 Fast Food Chains: Study Toxic chemicals known as "forever chemicals" have been found in food packaging used by eight fast-food chains, according to a new study by Consumer Reports. The PFAs commonly found in non-stick pans and waterproof gear are also in food packaging that keep fatty and oily liquids from leaking through, often used by fast-food joints. Exposure to PFAs have been proven to cause a suppressed immune system, lower birth weight and increased risk for some cancers, Consumer Reports says. NJ Man Sexually Assaulted Girl From Ages 6 To 9: Prosecutor A 68-year-old Somerset County man was arrested on accusations he sexually assaulted a girl for three years beginning when she was six years old, authorities said. Teodoro R. Velazquez, of Bernardsville, was arrested following an investigation beginning in June 2021, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Thomas Chirichella said.
