Driver Airlifted After Sending Car Through Jersey Shore Home: Police
A 23-year-old driver with a suspended license was flown to the hospital after sending a vehicle through several yards and fences then into a house on the Jersey Shore Friday night, authorities said. Jose Lopez-Serrano, of Jackson, was behind the wheel of the Toyota sedan and had to be extricated from the vehicle that he sent into the Cox Cro Road home in Toms River around 11:25 p.m., Toms River Police Chief Mitchell A. 17-Year-Old Girl Shot In Head, Killed In Philadelphia
A 17-year-old girl was shot three times and killed while sitting in a car in Philadelphia's Mount Airy section Friday night, police said. She was in a car with three others around 8:30 p.m. at Ross Street, when a large black SUV pulled alongside them and began shooting, authorities said. She was apparently shot once in the head and twice in the chest. The girl was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. No arrests had been made as of Saturday morning. She girl was not believed to have been the target.

Man Runs Over His Wife Killing Her In Maryland Bank Parking Lot: Police
A 59-year-old woman died after being intentionally struck and killed by a car driven by her husband in a bank parking lot in Maryland, authorities said. Alka Himanshu Tanna of Silver Spring, left the Capital One bank on New Hampshire Avenue around noon on Jan. 14, Montgomery County police said. As she tried to cross the parking lot, a white Lexus SUV, driven by her husband, 59-year-old Himanshu Maganlal Tanna, accelerated and struck her several times with his car, police said. There's been an outpouring of community support for the families devastated by a deadly fire that destroyed their homes in West Deptford Thursday. The fire broke out around 4:15 a.m. Thursday on the 1300 block of Tatum Street in West Deptford and spread to a neighboring home, leaving one woman dead and four others hurt. Several pets were also unaccounted for. Among the victims were John Travis and his fiancee, Brittany. They were parents to a newborn baby, Jack Jack, and now they've lost everything. A pair of New York men are wanted by authorities for pretending to be New Jersey residents' jailed grandchildren asking for bail money, scamming them out of thousands of dollars after a similar incident was reported on Long Island, authorities said. Silver Spring Driver, 27, Killed In Laurel Crash
A 27-year-old driver died in a Howard County crash Thursday, authorities said. Rony Sibrian was behind the wheel of a 2002 Toyota Avalon heading south on Route 29 when he left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned around 5:05 p.m. in Laurel, county police said. Sibrian, of Silver Spring, was rushed to Howard County General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The crash occurred near Route 216, and a portion of Route 29 south was closed for 2.5 hours. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The principal of a Bergen County Jewish day school has resigned over allegations that he sexually assaulted a camper more than 30 years ago, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports. The cause of a fire that destroyed several businesses and left two people dead in Hoboken has been identified, authorities announced. The Dec. 20 Jackson Street fire began in the back of the building at Glass & Vapor House LLC and the Cause has been ruled an accident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
