Off Duty Elizabeth EMS Supervisor Airlifted In Motorcycle Crash
An off duty EMT from Elizabeth was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on his way home from work, sources tell Daily Voice. The victim, an EMS supervisor, was on his motorcycle when the crash occurred near the intersection of Magie Avenue and Springfield Road around 2:40 p.m., city officials and sources say. He was airlifted from the Kean University soccer field to an area hospital, sources said. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

John Russo's promise to his girlfriend in 2014 was that if he beat throat cancer, he'd learn how to deck his house out in Christmas lights. 2 Stabbed During Fight In Elizabeth
Two adults were hospitalized late Thursday night after being stabbed in Elizabeth. The incident occurred near First Avenue and South 5th Street around 11 p.m., sources told Daily Voice. "Initial reports indicated a mutual fight where one suspect used a knife against another armed with a bottle," City Spokeswoman Kelly A. Martins said. The victims were rushed to University Hospital in Newark and the incident was under investigation. It was not clear if any arrests had been made as of Friday morning. A gunman wanted in a deadly Ewing shooting was nabbed by US Marshals agents trying to board a flight to North Carolina at Newark Airport Thursday, authorities said. Daryl K. Smith, 30, was being sought in the Nov. 29 killing of Cedric Hennessee Flippin outside of public storage lockers on Parkside Avenue in Ewing, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said. Smith was arrested Thursday afternoon at Newark Liberty International Airport on an airplane leaving for North Carolina, authorities said. Man In Westfield Sex Assault Committed Near Identical Crime In Plainfield: Prosecutor
A man charged in a Westfield home invasion sex assault was arrested in a similar incident in Plainfield, authorities said. Terence Rhue, 22, was armed when he broke into a Randolph Road home and sexually assaulted a victim inside on Oct. 4, said Union County Assistant Prosecutors Caroline Lawlor and Bryan Tiscia, who are prosecuting the case. DNA evidence collected at the scene was processed through the Prosecutor’s Office Forensic Laboratory for testing, where analysis revealed a strong match to Rhue.
