Briarcliff House Fire Under Investigation BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- An early morning house fire on Locust Road in Briarcliff is currently under investigation. Firefighters responded to 311 Locust Road at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning, according to Mike Garcia, first assistant chief. It took firefighters about four hours to put out the blaze, and they were assisted by firefighters in Ossining, Croton and Millwood, Garcia said. Eastchester Father Sentenced In Crash That Killed Three EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Michael Ware, an Eastchester resident whose daughter, of Pleasantville, was the driver in a fatal accident in Pennsylvania Labor Day weekend in 2014, was sentenced to 6.5 to 16 years in prison Thursday. Ware was sentenced at the Wayne County Courthouse in Pennsylvania.  In July, Ware pled guilty to three counts of involuntary manslaughter and three counts of reckless endangerment for letting his daughter drive his car, even though she was 15 at the time of the accident. Three teenage boys died in the accident.  Ware had faced up to 21 years in prison and a $45,00…

Indian Point Follows Protocol In Response To Transformer Fire, NRC Says BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued a report praising how employees handled a transformer fire that occurred at Indian Point in Buchanan in May.
