Loeb lost to 4th seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0.  Loeb won the NCAA Women's Singles Tennis National Championship during her time at the University of North Carolina. She was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.
