Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck By Jeep On Long Island Roadway A woman was critically injured after being struck by a Jeep on a Long Island roadway. The incident happened around 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in Oceanside. That's when the pedestrian was struck by a silver Jeep, operated by a 35-year-old woman, on Atlantic Avenue, Nassau County Police said. The driver remained at the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is in critical condition, police said. The investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

It happened around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 in Bridgeport. Serious Crash Shuts Down Three Long Island Expressway Lanes Updated story: Three lanes on a stretch of the Long Island Expressway were closed after a serious crash. The right, center, and left lanes of the eastbound LIE were shut down in Suffolk County due to a motor vehicle crash by Exit 53. Man Arranged To Have Sex With 13-Year-Old From Fairfield County, Police Say A man has been apprehended after arriving in Connecticut believing he was going to be having sex with a child, police announced. Man Stole Keys While Test Driving Car, Threatened Victim On Long Island, Police Say A man has been apprehended after police say he threatened a Long Island resident with a knife and stole his car keys while test driving a vehicle that was listed for sale on social media. Jalen Boynton, age 20, met the victim at his house on Cori Lane in Bohemia at approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 to test drive a 2020 Dodge Challenger T/A that had been listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, Suffolk County Police said. Second Person Dies From Injuries From Long Island Crash Involving Impaired Driver, Police Say A man has died from injuries in a Long Island crash involving an impaired driver in which his wife was also killed and seven others were injured, according to police. Police Investigating After Long Island TD Bank Branches Robbed On Back-To-Back Days Police are investigating after two separate Long Island TD Bank branches were robbed in back-to-back days. The most recent robbery happened on Monday, Oct. 4 at 4:55 p.m. in East Farmingdale. A man entered the TD Bank branch, located at 90 Broadhollow Road and indicated to the teller he had a gun, and handed the teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk County Police said.
