Students' Robots Climb To The Top At Qualifying Event In Ridgefield RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Students will show off their robotics skills at a qualifying event hosted by Connecticut FIRST Tech Challenge at Ridgefield Academy this Saturday. Students in grades 7 through 12 will compete for awards, as well as a chance to earn college scholarships and to compete at the Connecticut State level competition at Greens Farms Academy in February. Organized robotics competitions are designed for students to compete head-to-head, using a sports model. New Rochelle Lady Huguenots Sign National Letters of Intent NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Three Lady Huguenots from New Rochelle High School, who will each be receiving full athletic scholarships, signed national letters of intent this week. Kayla Correa will be attending Coppin State for women's basketball; Monae Cooper will be attending Northeastern University for track and field, and Symone Darius will attend University of Alabama for track and field. Bronx Teen Charged In Connection With Danbury Shooting DANBURY, Conn. — A teenager from the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested on accessory and conspiracy charges in connection with a shooting last month in Danbury that left a 22-year-old man with a leg injury, police said. Brandon Gonzalez, 18, turned himself in to police Monday, Nov. 16, on an active arrest warrant, police said. He is the second suspect to face charges in the shooting, police said.
