Man Charged With Stealing From Kohl's In Cortlandt Manor CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- A 26-year-old Peekskill resident was arrested for shoplifting a jacket at a Kohl's department store in Cortlandt Manor on Thursday. Eric T. Flores was arrested for two counts of Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor after State Troopers were dispatched to Kohl’s department store for a larceny complaint, according to state police.  Loss prevention reported that a shoplifter was observed concealing clothing underneath his jacket and then exited the store failing to pay for the merchandise, police said.  Flores posted $300 station bail and was released with an appearan…

Childhood Brain Cancer Grant Awarded To Hackensack U Medical Center HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A $50,000 grant was awarded by a local childhood cancer charity to Hackensack University Medical Center.  The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered and donor-centered charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research. Funding from St. Baldrick’s will be used to fund a clinical research assistant for the medical center’s pediatric brain tumor program.  The CRA position will benefit the program as they move forward in opening two pediatric brain tumor trials.  One trial will look at the use of a new drug, 2-hydroxyoleic acid, for the treatment of…

How Many Wives Earn More Than Their Husbands? The percentage of American wives earning more than their husbands has slowly increased in the past decade, but husbands still are overwhelmingly bringing home the bacon, according to Statista.  According to data compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 29.3 percent of wives earned more than their husbands in 2013 (in families in which both wives and husbands have earnings). 47 Million Americans To Travel For Thanksgiving The estimated 47 million Americans nationwide who are expected to make their annual pilgrimage to grandma’s this holiday will see lower prices at the pump. In its annual holiday travel survey, AAA projects a 0.6 percent increase in the number of people traveling between Nov. 25-29.
