Leonia Church Retreat Reflects On Advent Season LEONIA, N.J. -- Various aspects of Christianity are the discussion topics for a Nov. 28 retreat planned by the Leonia United Methodist Church.  Topics include blind spots on honor and shame, Western culture, theology and missiology. Bring Used Coats To Oakland Church Drive OAKLAND, N.J. -- A one-day Deacon Richard Mohr Annual Coat Drive is being held at the Ramapo Valley Knights of Columbus in Oakland from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 29. Donations of pre-worn warm clothing such as coats, jackets, gloves, hats, scarves, socks and sweaters help St. John’s of Newark serve the many homeless in the area.  Donations are tax-deductible. Ramapo Valley Knights of Columbus is located at 7 Courthouse Place, across the street from the Exxon on Route 202 in Oakland.

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Divers searching the bottom of the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem for a large object the day after a plane crashed on its approach to Danbury Airport Friday night discovered a large piece of fuselage of the plane, according to a report on lohud.com. Monsey Man Sentenced In Scheme To Violently Coerce Religious Divorce MONSEY, N.Y. -- Three New York men, including a Monsey resident, were sentenced Thursday for their roles in a scheme to violently coerce a recalcitrant husband to grant his wife a religious divorce, U.S. Attorney Paul J.
