Irvington High School Students Receive Awards For Empathy
IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Eighteen Irvington High School students have been recognized by the school district for demonstrating empathy, the ability to understand and share others’ feelings.
For displaying this quality in an exceptional way, they were awarded a Core Value Award on Nov. 4 in the category of Empathy.

Erik B. Wagner, 68, Of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Erik B. Wagner, a Poughkeepsie resident, died Nov. 19, after a four-year battle against cancer. He was 68.
Wagner was born March 7, 1947, in Poughkeepsie, the son of Walter W. and Dorothy Bennett Wagner. He was a 1965 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and later received his associate's degree from Dutchess Community College.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Marion Souder Hartmann, a Poughkeepsie resident, died Nov. 20. She was 82.
Hartmann was predeceased by her sisters, Bettie Gauntt and Eleanor Fleischman, and her daughter-in-law, Martha G. Hartmann.
She is survived by her husband, John Paul Hartmann; sons, John P. Hartmann Jr. and daughter-in-law Lisa M. Hartmann of Sarasota Fla., Eric B. Hartmann of Poughkeepsie; Thomas E. Hartmann and daughter-in-law Jodi G Hartmann of Poughkeepsie; daughter, Nancy Hartmann Barron and son-in-law Mark B. Barron of Randolph N.J.; and nine grandchildren.

Issa Khalil, 79, Of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Issa Khalil, a Poughkeepsie resident, died Saturday, Nov. 21 at MidHudson Regional Hospital. He was 79.
Khalil was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Irbid, Jordan . He was the son of the late Mansour and the late Sadah (Naser) Khalil. He married Huda Fakhouri in 1964 in Jordan.
He retired from the Jordanian Army and was a member of St. James Antiochian Orthodox Church.
