'Frosty The Snowman' Celebration Returns To His Hometown Of Armonk
ARMONK, N.Y. -- The homecoming of America’s favorite snowman, Frosty, will be celebrated again this year with “Frosty Day” in his hometown of Armonk on Saturday.Frosty’s 65th birthday will be celebrated this year as well as the annual parade at 4:30 p.m. and holiday lighting ceremony. BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announces preseason tennis rankings for men and women tennis at Concordia College, Bronxville. The Concordia College men's program is ranked 8th in NCAA Division II while the women are ranked 29th. On the men's side, sophomore Jui Mao (Taipei, Taiwan) is the 9th ranked singles player in the nation. Senior Rafael Ferreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) is 21st. Rose Holowinski, 82, Of Paramus
PARAMUS, N.J. -- Rose Holowinski (Farella), a Paramus resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 24. She was 82. Before retiring, Holowinski worked for Bergen County as a supervising index clerk of mortgages and deeds for 30 years. She was predeceased by her siblings, John Farella Jr. and Antoinette Fotia The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Westport P.A.L Rink Accepting Registration For Ice Skating
WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for ice skating instruction for all ages at the Westport P.A.L. Rink at Longshore. The program is a 10-week session from Dec. 1 through Feb. 27. Instruction will be provided on various days and times, including weekends. Classes range from beginner to advanced, and include adult instruction. All instruction follows the U.S. Figure Skating Association’s Learn to Skate program. Cost for the session is $175. STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team kicked off its 15th year bringing home eight medals. The Skyliners performed at their first competitions of the season, and every single line medaled – resulting in a total of six gold medals, one silver and one bronze.
