George Parness, Former Suffern Mayor, Dies At 90
SUFFERN, N.Y. – George Parness, former Suffern Mayor and legislature, died in South Carolina on Tuesday – 15 months after his wife's death, reported lohud.com. He was 90.
Parness served five two-year terms as mayor of Suffern and two four-year terms on the Rockland Legislature, and is remembered for increasing the police and fire department presence in Suffern, reported lohud.com.
He is survived by sons, Adam and Andrew; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Oscar C. Lindenberg, 85, Of Chestnut Ridge
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y. -- Oscar C. Lindenberg, of Chestnut Ridge, died Tuesday, Nov. 24 in Manhattan. He was 85.
Lindenberg was born May 21, 1930, in the Bronx.
Funeral Services will be at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29 at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State St., Spring Valley, with Rabbi Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Road, Elmont.
