This year's Greenwich Reads Together (GRT), the fifth community-wide reading experience, saw an increase in participants from last year.
A total of 7,200 residents turned out for over 50 different events including: readings, expert panels, book discussions, storytelling, and film screenings sponsored by many town-based organizations.

Legislators Tour Port Chester Middle School, Considered 'State Model'
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Assemblyman Steven Otis, D-Rye, visited Port Chester Middle School on Wednesday, Nov. 18, to see a public school Community Schools model in action. Port Chester Middle School, like all of the Port Chester schools, has adopted the Community Schools model, which is designed to help remove obstacles that can keep children from attending school.

SPCA Raises Money In Hyde Park Event To Keep Animals Warm This Winter
HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- In the spirit of giving back to the animals who are in need during the cold winter months ahead, the Dutchess County SPCA is asking the community to participate in their first “12 Days of Holiday Giving."
Guests will have the opportunity to take pet photos with Santa for $20, shop the Holiday Market, tour the facility, and enjoy festive music, and refreshments from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the DCSPCA.
A portion of proceeds from photo and holiday market purchases will benefit the DCSPCA.
