Ridgefield's Holiday House Tour Needs Volunteers RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Volunteers are needed for the 6th Biennial Ridgefield Holiday House Tour on Friday, Dec. 4.  This year's tour, sponsored once again by Tiger Hollow Inc., will feature five Ridgefield homes, plus the newly renovated Lounsbury House. Volunteers are needed at the homes on the day of the tour to guide visitors, as well as to facilitate parking.  The schedule allows for a morning or an afternoon shift (9 a.m. to noon or noon to 3 p.m.) and as a volunteer, your house tour ticket can be purchased at a discounted price of $30 marked down from $55 in advance and $60 at the door.…

Pauline Lightfoot Porter, 83, Former Mahopac Resident MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Pauline Adele Lightfoot Porter, a resident of New Bern, N.C. and formerly of Mahopac, died Nov. 28. She was 83.  Porter was born in Paterson, N.J. to the late Frank and Josephine Lightfoot. Porter moved to Brooklyn, where she met and married Robert Porter in 1956. They were married for nearly 50 years until his death in 2006.  Porter was a graduate of Saint Francis Xavier High School in Brooklyn. Box Truck Rolls Over In Norwalk, Leaks 25 Gallons Of Fuel NORWALK, Conn. -- A small box truck rolled over on Martin Luther King Drive in Norwalk on Saturday, causing a fuel spill, police said.  The truck landed on its side after mounting the curb, striking a tree and then ripping an electrical transformer from its platform, police said. Students In Westwood Raise Awareness For NJ's Minimum Drinking Age WESTWOOD, N.J. -- Westwood Regional Jr./Sr. High School students participated in Sticker Shock, a program that raises public awareness of New Jersey’s minimum drinking age.  The students worked in collaboration with Principal Frank Connelly and the Township of Washington Police Department in visiting a local store that sells alcohol and placing stickers and bottle hangers on alcohol products that appeal to underage drinkers.
