Redding's Mark Twain Library Kicks Off 43rd Annual Art Show REDDING, Conn. -- Mark Twain Library's 43rd Annual Art Show fundraiser runs from Dec. 5 to 13 in Redding.  All the art work in the show will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the library.  The juried show kicks-off with a champagne preview gala Friday, Dec. 4. Brewster Tech Students Bake Pies For Needy Families BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Culinary students at The Tech Center, baked pumpkin pies for Putnam Community Action Program (CAP) in Brewster, just in time for Thanksgiving.  The pies will be among those included in the more than 400 holiday baskets the organization gives to families in need during Thanksgiving.  “It really makes me feel happy to be able to give back, especially by doing something I love, like cooking,” said Adrian Boyle, a junior from Hendrick Hudson High School.

Adam Edwin Fernand, 51, Of New Fairfield NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Adam Edwin Fernand, a New Fairfield resident, died unexpectedly on Dec. 1 at Yale New Haven Hospital, following a brief illness.  Fernand's distinguished career as a Danbury Police Officer lasted 29 years, as he rose from the ranks of rookie officer at age 21 to Detective Sergeant, retiring in July of 2014. During his tenure on the police force, he was Team Leader of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, as well as part of the Tactical Narcotics Team. Santa Claus Raises $100 for SPCA In Ossining Visit OSSINING, N.Y. -- Mike Risko Music and the Ossining Chamber of Commerce invited Santa to visit for a photo opportunity with children and pets on Sunday. Greg Perry Photography took the free pictures on Sunday, while donations to the SPCA were encouraged.  Little Sweet's Pet Boutique gave out free pet treats and helped pose the pets while DJ Johnny G was Santa.  The event raised approximately $100 for the SPCA.
