New Canaan's Cole Nominated For U.S. Olympic Team NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan's Charlie Cole belongs to Men's Four, one of four crews nominated to represent the United States at the 2016 Olympic Games. The nomination is pending final approval, according to an announcement by USRowing. Cole, 30 began rowing at New Canaan High School in 1999. He began his rowing career at Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk under Yan Vangerovskiy.
